1. The service
ShortPut at shortput.app is an independently operated tool for researching US equity options. It displays market information and calculations such as volatility, option premiums, estimated capital requirements and ROI. It does not execute trades, hold customer funds or manage your brokerage account.
By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it. You must be an adult with the legal capacity to accept these terms and comply with laws applicable to your use.
2. Accounts, previews and early access
Selected symbols may be available without sign-in. Search, additional symbols, saved watchlists and administrative features require the permissions assigned by ShortPut. A Google sign-in or waitlist submission does not automatically grant full access. Invitations, availability and launch dates are not guaranteed.
Keep your account secure, provide accurate account information and do not share privileged access or impersonate another person. Contact us if you suspect unauthorized use. The current service does not enable paid subscriptions or collect payment-card information. Any future paid offering would require separately disclosed pricing and your agreement before a charge.
3. Research, not investment advice
Charts, rankings, Greeks, expected ranges and ROI estimates are informational tools, not personalized investment, tax or legal advice or a recommendation to enter a trade. ShortPut does not assess whether a strategy suits your finances, experience or risk tolerance. You are responsible for your decisions and for independently checking information with your broker and other appropriate sources.
Options can cause substantial losses. Selling puts involves assignment risk and may create an obligation to buy the underlying; margin-backed positions can require additional funds or forced liquidation. Cash security does not remove downside risk. An annualized ROI is a calculation, not a forecast or promised return.
4. Quotes, calculations and data rights
Quotes may be delayed, incomplete, stale or unavailable. A midpoint is not an executable price; estimated margin may differ from a broker’s requirements. Expected ranges, put/call walls and max pain are model outputs, not guarantees of future prices. Calculations can omit commissions, fees, taxes, slippage and individual account constraints. Data and third-party materials remain subject to their owners’ rights and applicable provider terms. Being able to view a preview does not grant redistribution or resale rights. Do not redistribute, resell or bulk-extract market data without the necessary permission. ShortPut does not grant rights it does not own.
5. Acceptable use
Do not bypass access controls or rate limits, access another person’s data, interfere with the service, introduce malicious code or use it for unlawful purposes. Automated requests must respect access permissions and must not overload the service. Do not use the waitlist to submit other people’s addresses without authorization.
6. Availability and responsibility
The service is provided on an as-available basis, to the extent permitted by applicable law. We do not promise uninterrupted access, complete or error-free information, a particular investment outcome or that any estimate will match an actual trade. You should not rely on ShortPut as your sole source for a financial decision.
Access may be limited or suspended for security, abuse prevention, maintenance or upstream data restrictions. Contact us to raise an access concern. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits mandatory consumer or data-protection rights.
7. Privacy, changes and contact
The Privacy Policy explains Google sign-in, account records, the waitlist and how to request data removal. You can stop using the service at any time; signing out does not itself delete stored records. For account closure, data requests or questions about these terms, contact the ShortPut operator using the email below.
We may update the service and these terms. The date on this page identifies the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated through the service or available contact channels as appropriate; any consent required by applicable law will be requested. Both language versions are intended to describe the same service. Contact us if you find an inconsistency.
